Which Baby Names Are in Danger of Becoming Extinct in 2017?

Every three months or so there's a new story out about baby names and trends. They usually cover what the hot new baby names are at that moment. Baby names, of course, have been impacted by pop culture and other trending things each year.

All of these new names mean that some more traditional first names could become extinct.

Babycentre has predicted which names will be the top names for 2017. Some names that made the list for girls are Emma, Olivia, and Ava. The names Liam, Noah, and Mason topped the list for boys this year.

However, there are 36 names that have yet to be registered this year, according to Babycentre. This means that so far, nobody has given their child these first names. This list is from the UK, but it is probably a sign of a global trend.

Here are a few of the names that have not been registered:

  • Angela
  • Debra
  • Carol
  • Dean
  • Dennis
  • Geoffrey
  • Maureen
  • Roy
  • Sandra
  • Wayne

So for these names, the end could be near. I guess all good things must come to an end?

Of course, these names could always make a comeback. After all, we've seen some of the horrific fashion trends of the 70's and 80's resurge.
