A new radar gun that will tell police when you're texting and driving is close to completion.

Comsonics (a Virginia-based company) has created a new radar gun to catch those that are behind the wheel and texting at the same time.

Experts say that the new device would pick up the radio frequencies that are given out by your phone when you are sending a text message. The new device has been under development for a while, but it looks like it is pretty close to completion.

That’s all well and good, but what if you have multiple people in the car with you? Passengers should be able to text while they’re in the car, right?

How can this new technology know for sure the text is coming from the driver's phone and not a passenger? They say that part of the technology is still in development.

Final production is based on successful testing and the willingness of local officials (across the country) to adopt the devices.

If you text and drive you really need to stop. Not only is it extremely dangerous to take your focus off of the road because it takes a split second for a terrible accident to happen.
