Toys "R" Us is set to close one-fifth of its stores scheduled to begin in February. Although not all locations are finalized, the 182 stores on the list are due to their bankruptcy organization plans.

According to USA Today, the company "filed court documents outlining plans" on Tuesday (January 23). With these changes, Toys "R" Us will try to "reinvent itself as a leaner, smarter retailer."

USA TODAY reports that Toys "R" Us received court approval to extend store leases which will pay landlords up to $1.3 million. Once the closings are finalized, the company also plans to "convert" several locations into Toys "R" Us and Babies "R" Us stores.
