Most classic Christmas songs either have roots in R&B or a silky smooth R&B version. The style of music simply lends itself to the season, we guess. This is why it was so hard to pick just eight amazing R&B Christmas songs. And, we certainly didn't want to do it without YOUR input! So, after you check out our list, take our poll and tell us which is your favorite or let us know what we missed!

8. Dru Hill -- "Favorite Time of Year" (2017)

If you haven't heard, Dru Hill is back and in the studio, ready for a comeback. To get fans excited they even dropped a new album of Christmas songs this month, featuring this prototypical Dru Hill slow jam "Favorite Time of Year." Hopefully, this new song gets fans ready for the season... and for new Dru Hill.

7. Chris Brown -- "This Christmas" (2007)

There has been an awful lot of debate about this song. Especially considering that, because it's been covered so many times, some people just like Chris Brown's version or they don't. But, of course, that may just be personal preference because as far as the song goes, Brown's version is pretty impressive.

6. Fantasia featuring Cee Lo Green -- "Baby, It's Cold Outside" (2017)

Not everyone was on board with Fantasia dueting with Cee Lo, but to be fair to Fantasia this song is still a pretty good one for the season. Kudos to the American Idol winner for going brassy on her newly released, jazzy-poppy collection of Christmas tunes. They all soundamazing!

5. Luther Vandross -- "Every Year, Every Christmas" (1995)

This single was actually one of several Christmas songs Luther Vandross recorded during the height of his career, but has since become one of his most popular. Two years after his death, fellow legend Patti Labelle covered this one in his honor.

4. Ledisi -- "Be There For Christmas" (2008)

Maybe not the most popular R&B Christmas song, but Ledisi's holiday tune about spending the season with someone special is a pretty beautiful song. It's also a fun listen. Kind of the perfect track for decorating the tree or baking cookies with the little ones.

3. Boyz II Men featuring Brian McKnight -- "Let It Snow" (1993)

Leave it to Boyz II Men to turn a song about snowing into a love song. But, if you're going to make it into a love song, you're going to need Brian McKnight, right? Another classic beautifully interpreted by a more modern group. Definitely one of our favorites.

2. Otis Redding -- "Merry Christmas, Baby" (1967)

There's something about Otis Redding's voice that literally feels like Christmas. Of all his amazing songs, this is the one that makes you want to cuddle up with your loved ones by the fire and wait for Santa to deliver all those presents. A classic song in its own right, made just a little bit better by the legend Otis Redding.

1. The Jackson 5 -- "Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town" (1970)

Most R&B Christmas songs are good. Some are great. This one, though, this one is CLASSIC. Originally written in 1934, and covered a million times since, no group or singer has ever managed to do what the The Jackson 5 did with this song. We challenge anyone to try not to dance when this one comes on (even when it isn't the season).

So which one of our eight favorites is your favorite? Did we leave your favorite out? Let us know by taking our poll below.
