WATCH: Elton John's Surprise Performance for The Lion King's 20th Anniversary on Broadway

Elton John surprised theater-goers on Sunday, as he made an unannounced performance at Sunday’s The Lion King on Broadway in New York City.

The iconic composer appeared after the Sunday's curtain call to perform “Circle of Life." He was joined by the entire company of the show for the performance:

The show is celebrating its 20th anniversary on Broadway. It first opened on Broadway on November 13, 1997, making it the third longest running show in Broadway history. In fact, the musical (and its 24 global productions) have now been seen by more than 90 million people, according to Disney.

Other alumni from the Lion King (including the original director Julie Taymor and the show’s lyricist Tim Rice) were also on hand for the special performance.
