A Live Person Will Personally Sing You a Christmas Song 24/7 If You Dial This Number

This FREE service runs through December 20 this year

December 14, 2017

Calling 217-332-1882 is basically GUARANTEED to fill you with a feeling of immense holiday joy that even Jolly Old Saint Nicholas can't fit on his sleigh this Christmas Eve.

Seriously. It works. We tried it and we cannot describe how festive it made us feel.

For one week every December, students in one residence hall the University of Illinois gather around telephones to sing Christmas carols for ANYONE who calls them. Seriously, they do it FOR FREE 24/7 for an entire week.

Yes, students living in Snyder Hall spend the end of the fall semester answering phones to take requests for Christmas carols. Ahh, it's the the simple joys of college life for undergraduate students, right?

So how does it work? It's simple. They answer, and you just have to introduce yourself and request a holiday carol. They'll start signing for you. If they don't know the song, don't worry. They'll look it up!

Let's be clear: these students don't promise to be good singers... at all. In fact, they're likely to sign off-key, but that's part of what makes it so special.

The free service, which is now in its 57th season, runs from December 14 through December 20 this year. It's pretty popular too. The service logged more than 10,000 calls from all 50 states (and over 75 countries) last year.

By the way, how many times did they have to sign Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You"? Apparently, it was requested more than 300 times in 2016, according to their website.
