January 9, 2018

Neil Diamond and Tina Turner are set to receive a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award this year. The full list of honorees includes Queen, Hal Blaine, Emmylou Harris, The Meters and Louis Jordan.

Neil Diamond is one of the most iconic recording artists in American history. The "Sweet Caroline" singer has dominated the music charts for more than five decades as both performer and iconic songwriter.

Meanwhile, Tina Turner has been known for her incredible live performances and powerful voice since her career began in the 1950s. In fact, the "What's Love Got to Do with It" singer has sold more than 50 million copies of her albums

The Lifetime Achievement Award honors those performers whose recordings have made “outstanding contributions of artistic significance.”

"These exceptionally inspiring figures are being honored as legendary performers, creative architects, and technical visionaries. Their outstanding accomplishments and passion for their craft have created a timeless legacy," said President/CEO of the Recording Academy Neil Portnow.

To honor the recipients, a “special award presentation ceremony and concert” will take place in Summer 2018. As for the GRAMMY Awards, they’ll broadcast live from New York City’s Madison Square Garden at 7:30 PM ET on CBS Sunday, January 28.
