Popular Holiday Foods That I Can't Stand

It always seems I'm the only person at holiday parties that doesn't like these particulary POPULAR Christmas foods/beverages. But I know I can't be alone - hence, the blog.
FIRST, egg nog. Blegghhh. What even IS that mess? Texturally, it's awful. Like drinking warm, thick milk. GROSS. And it doesn't even taste good. No amount of vodka can change that either.

Next, apple cidar. Look - I realize this is a pretty popular beverage during the holidays but HOT apple anything doesn't work for me. And don't get me started on the smell, makes me sick. (I know....what a weirdo...)

Next, fruitcake. Honest to goodness, my mother and grandmother are the only people I know that will admit they eat this rubbish. Yes, I've tried it, mulitple times, and every single time I regretted it. BLEGGHH. Literally the worst stuff.

Finally, candy canes. Here's my thing - I don't HATE mint, I just hate it on it's own. Mix it with some chocolate and I'M IN. But stand alone mint drives me CRAZY. It's TOO much mint and I'm over it within seconds of eating it. Need to freshen your breath a little? Sure. But to actually eat a candy cane out of sheer enjoyment or becasue you had a "sweet tooth" is unacceptable.

This is all just opinion, by the way. TO EACH THEIR OWN! Some of you reading this may find yourself loving ALL of these things, and that's okay! But me? I'll pass. HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
