The Average Person Will Take This Many Selfies in Their Lifetime
By: Joe Hyer
Ready for this? The average person born after 1980 will take 25,000 selfies in their lifetime, according to newly released data.
Samsung shared the surprising statistic when they unveiled an improved front-facing camera at a recent product launch.

This seems a little insane because selfies didn’t really become a thing until about 2010 when Apple put a front-facing camera on the iPhone 4.
Yes, we've only been taking selfies for 7 years. It sure feels like a lifetime, right?
So it must be crazy to assume that the average person will take 25,000 selfies in their lifetime, right? Apparently, it may not be as far-fetched as we originally thought it was. We found a study from 2015 that said the average millennial would take about 25,700 selfies in their lifetime.
Let's do some math here:
We'll say that a millennial who was born in 1997 lives to be 78 years old. Life expectancy rates vary by source, but we'll use that as our number. We'll also assume that this millennial started taking selfies in 2010. This means they would have to take 395 selfies each year to reach that number.
Whoa!
