Hoda Kotb Considering Changing Wedding Date Due to Coronavirus

April 15, 2020

While it's been quite an exciting year for Hoda Kotb, she's one of the many who have seen a wrench thrown into their wedding plans. However, the Today show host isn't letting it get to her.

Kotb got engaged in November of this past year, and while wedding planning was well underway, she may have to adjust the date of her perfect day. In a conversation with People, Kotb reveals that she may push back her wedding due to the coronavirus pandemic.

"We are literally about to push the button on save the dates just because... we kind of have our reservations, we know what we want to do, but who's to know if it's going to need to be delayed? So Joel and I have been discussing it," she said.

And even though the pandemic could affect her much-anticipated wedding day, she realizes that worse things are happening right now. "It's such small potatoes," she said. "My friend was telling me that she was at a Zoom funeral the other day, and I almost died inside."

Kotb is remaining hopeful, considering she still has an event to plan at all. "If you're planning a celebration, and you're wondering when it should be, just be lucky you have a celebration to plan," she explains.

Meanwhile, her wedding date isn't even that big of a deal for Kotb, as she's revealed that she "already feel[s] married" to her "lifelong partner" Joel Schiffman.

"I'm so happy to say 'I do' and I'm also happy to do it whenever we need to, but as far as I'm concerned, it's a formality now," she reveals.

Kotb and Schiffman began dating in 2013 and got engaged in November of 2019 during a beautiful beachside proposal.
