“I told you the next time you’d hear from me I’d be singing,” Demi Lovato captioned a photo on Tuesday, announcing that she will return to the stage for a performance at the 2020 GRAMMY Awards.

This will be Lovato’s first time performing live since an overdose in 2018 sidelined the “Sorry Not Sorry” singer while she attended to her mental health and returned to rehab. Lovato has been very open about her struggles, at her spot on music’s biggest night marks a triumphant return.

Lovato received her first GRAMMY nomination in 2017 for Best Pop Vocal Album for Confident. She also performed that year as part of a tribute to Lionel Richie.
Demi’s last performance came in July of 2018, just days before she was admitted to the hospital.

Lovato has documented her road to recovery over the past year, sharing her struggles with fans in an effort to help them overcome their own personal pain. Last month, Demi got the word “Survivor” tattooed on her neck to help mark her journey.

Lovato will be joined on music’s biggest night with performances from Lizzo, Billie Eilish, Aerosmith, and more. Hosted by Alicia Keys, the 2020 GRAMMY Awards happen live from Los Angeles at 8PM ET on CBS.
